Mark-Wright-Dentist-GodalmingMark is the person who you will see for any dental procedures booked at Lakeside Dental Practice. With over thirty five years working in dentistry, Mark is perfectly placed to provide you with expert dental care no matter what treatment you are receiving.

Since earning his Bachelor in Dental Surgery from Kings College Hospital School of Medicine & Dentistry in 1980, Mark has continually expanded his knowledge and experience. He has become a member of several prestigious dental associations and committees in both the UK and Europe and is currently the Regent for England, Scotland and Wales for the European section of the International College of Dentists. Mark has also taught on the undergraduates programme at Kings College Hospital School of Medicine and Dentistry and lectured on a wide range of areas of dentistry for such prominent organisations as the British Dental Association and the European Dental & Medical Symposium.  He is also on the editorial board of a prominent dental journal.

Mark has a wealth of experience in an array of dental care, taking a special interest in dental prosthetics, dental aesthetics, endodontics along with dento-alveolar and implant surgery.  He is one of the few dentists in the UK to have been awarded the Diploma in Implant Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons at the Advanced Level.

Outside of dentistry, Mark’s achievements include supporting the interests of his three daughters, all now in their twenties, with his wife Caroline. Mark also likes to stay active outdoors; he is an avid skier and hill walker, as well as enjoying sailing and taking in a round of golf whenever he can.

Louise Buchanan - Dental Hygienist

The newest member of our hygienist team; Louise joined Lakeside Dental Practice in January IMG_0982 louise2017

Louise qualified in 1985 from Leeds as a dentist and enjoyed 12 years in general practice. She had a 5 year break whilst her children were young and has since worked part time as a hygienist. Louise really enjoys motivating patients to understand their important role in maintaining a healthy mouth.

When she is not working Louise is a keen gardener and has recently started teaching cookery classes in her village. She also enjoys spending time with her husband and two children,

Charley Graham – Dental Hygienist / Dental Therapist

Charley Qualified from the Eastman Dental Hospital in 2014 with a diploma in dental hygiene and therapy where she was also awarded the educational award for outstanding work and commitment throughout her training.
Prior to qualifying as a dental hygienist and therapist Charley completed her NEBDN National Diploma in dental nursing and subsequently worked as an endodontic (root filling specialist) nurse as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Outside of dentistry she enjoys fitness classes and has a passion for good food and cooking.

Karen Griffin - Dental Receptionist

She spent many years in the past working as a dental nurse and dental receptionist prior to joining Lakeside Dental Practice in March 2016.

Ellen Knaap – Dental Hygienist / Dental Therapist

Ellen-Knaap-Dentists-GodalmingEllen became part of the Lakeside Dental Practice team in 2011. With both a CEB Diploma in Dental Hygiene and an LHMC Diploma in Dental Therapy, Ellen offers dental hygienist services as well as undertaking additional dental procedures following a patient’s consultation and diagnosis with Mark.

Her favourite part of her job is motivating her patients to achieve and maintain excellent oral health.

Away from the practice, Ellen is a keen cyclist, and also enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters.

Julie Rogers – Dental Surgery Assistant

As a Dental Surgery Assistant, Julie’s job involves greeting patients and ensuring they experience a caring service. She also works frequently with Mark within the treatment room and is responsible for ensuring the practice runs smoothly.

Julie’s favourite part of her job is interacting with the patients, and reassuring them to ensure they are as relaxed as possible. She also loves the variety of tasks involved in her role, as well as working within the great team at Lakeside Dental Practice.

In her spare time, Julie enjoys walking, going to the gym, travelling and reading as well as spending time with her husband and son.

Lucy Rogers – Dental Hygienist

Lucy-Rogers-Dentists-GodalmingLucy is a member of our dental hygienist team, who specialise in maintaining and optimising the oral health of patients. Our dental hygienists also carry out essential services such as scale and polish treatments and preventative care against conditions such as gum disease.

Lucy joined Lakeside Dental Practice in 2008, having received her CEB Certificate in Dental Hygiene in 1981. Lucy particularly enjoys helping nervous patients to become more relaxed and confident when visiting the practice.

In her spare time, Lucy keeps herself busy up-cycling furniture and taking part in amateur dramatics. She also enjoys gardening and walking her dog.

Laura Wells - Dental Surgery Assistant / Receptionist

Laura has joined us while our Practice Manager Cara is on maternity leave.

Laura gained her dental nursing qualification in 2013 . She has previously worked in mixed NHS and private dental practices and as a locum. In the near future she hopes to qualify as a hygienist.

In her spare time she enjoys cooking, travelling to new places and toning through Pilates.

Caroline Wright – Practice Administrator / Dental Surgery Assistant / Receptionist

Caroline-Wright-Dentist-GodalmingCaroline has worked at Lakeside Dental Practice since 1989, making her one of our most long-serving team members. She has the important job of looking after everything going on “behind the scenes” to ensure the smooth running of the practice.

Caroline also works behind reception and as a qualified dental nurse. She loves getting to know the patients at the practice, talking to them about their lives and families.

When she’s not at work, Caroline is a keen gardener and skier, as well as enjoying reading and spending time with her family and friends.
